A delightful sushi experience that exceeds all expectations from overall food presentation, taste and quality of fish. Here's to another Take-Out Wednesday featuring Kaji Sushi, a restaurant recommended by my colleague that I have been eyeing since November. I couldn't wait any longer for the city to start allowing people to dine-in at restaurants again, since just looking through their website made my mouth water. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not available on any delivery platforms that most people turn to. To place your order, call the restaurant, set a time for pick-up, and pay over the phone. The restaurant has a limited variety of take-out sushi boxes and roll sets, but you won't be disappointed with their decadent options.

Kaji's Selection box ($135 plus tax) was the order for the night. Is this sushi box worth the price? Absolutely! The sushi box contains approximately 30 pieces of sushi and sashimi. The website states that the selection of fish may vary based on availability, as most ingredients are from Japan. I was blown away by how beautifully this box was presented. All I could focus on was the glistening look of each sushi, just waiting to be devoured. After a few pictures (at about 6 different angles), I was finally ready to try one; a lobster sushi. The way the lobster sushi was prepared was so appealing, unlike I have ever seen before. The sushi had a crisp taste with a silky texture that you'll go to bed dreaming about. My senses also highlighted the sushi rice, which paired equally well with the fish and the provided soy sauce. My favourite part about this box was the variety of tuna nigiri, tuna roll, and sashimi. The scallop was fatty and delicious, just by itself. The perfectly cooked Unagi was tender and delightful.
Taking the time to appreciate this box felt like I had my own Omakase experience at home, but when it is safe to do so, I'm definitely coming back to the restaurant for the Omakase experience. This place sets the new benchmark for a delectable Sushi Experience. I can see why it has been named in Canada's Top 100 restaurants, and I strongly urge you to indulge.
