A former ramen joint (jinya) has just become one of the must check out places in Toronto. In the middle of the pandemic, Naru Izakaya offers unique small plate dishes located just around Ryerson University.
Naru Izakaya Toronto
399 Church St, Toronto
The menu comprises of Tapa, Bento Boxes, Cold, and Tapa dishes. All these dishes compliments with a pint of beer or cocktails. Calamari is a dish I would recommend that includes a variety of vegetables and the house-made NARU sauce.
The Tuna Takaki is the eye-catching of all the dishes. Beautifully plated tuna served with their house-made sauce.
Another eye-catching dish is the Niru Hiratake King Oyster Mushroom. This plate of king mushroom is packed with that delicious home-made teriyaki sauce and finished with fresh basil.
The rest of the food haul includes a deep-fried chicken skin, deep-fried cod cake, Deep-Fried Shishito pepper, Spicy Edamame.
I would go back to try other dishes tackling down one of the ramens bowls they offer. I would consider this part of my top 5 for Izakaya Joints in Toronto.
